La Storia

Ascanio Cruciani teaching farm is located in the valley between Spoleto and Assisi. Ascanio Cruciani was born in Montefalco in 1931 in a big family of farmers.
In 1972 he bought the current small farm starting his activities with animals, tobacco cultivation and in 1992 a bakery as well.
In 2009 one of his son, Fabio, acquired his activities keeping on the animals and some cultivations.
Here, between past and present, Ascanio Farm welcomes families, groups and schools to offers his passionate view of the countryside life.


Most of Ascanio fields are cultivated with grass, corn and barley and almost all the production is used to feed animals.

A small area is dedicated to legumes, today a protein source. Productions of beans, peas, lentils and cicerchie legumes are alternated

Vegetable garden

Ascanio Farm has got a vegetables garden that gives delicious seasonal products. In Winter the vegetable garden products chards, broccoli, artichokes, turnips, fennels, spinaches; in Spring in salads, rocket, radicchio and fava beans; in Summer peas, tomatoes, eggplants, green beans, peppers, zucchini; in Autumn radish, chicory and pumpkins.


Trees, both wine and red varieties, are prunes but not treated and wine produced is for family use only.

Olive tree grove

Acsanio Farm has got about 2,5 Ha olive tree groves in Trevi area. Olives belongs to Moraiolo, Frantoio and Leccino varieties. Local mills turns olives into genuine extra virgin olive oil.
